The Coastal Community Choir started at the end of 2015 and from small beginnings now has 37 members.
The choir is for people who enjoy singing, whatever their ability. There are no auditions, and members don’t have to be able to read music, they just have to like singing.
We now meet every Wednesday at Freiston Church from approx 7 pm for an hours practice followed by tea or coffee and a chance to catch up with old friends.
It doesn’t cost anything to join although choir members do make donations to cover the cost of refreshments and photocopying.
There are members from all around the area including Butterwick, Freiston, Old Leake, Friskney, Wrangle, Benington, Leverton and Frithville.
Coastal Community Choir
This year has been a very difficult one for the choir, as the Coronovirus panademic has meant that we have been unable to do any of our planned public performances.
During the lockdown, we were unable to rehearse at all for several weeks, but eventually we began rehearsing on a playing field so that we could suitably distance ourselves. It wasn’t ideal, but better than not being able to sing together at all.
From the playing field we progressed to a large garden and we now use Freiston Church on a Wednesday evening.
If all goes to plan, we do hope to at least do a few public performances in the open-air before Christmas.
If you’d like to know more, please contact Helen Dower on 0781 068 2969 (e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org) or just turn up on a Wednesday night at 7 pm, you’d be most welcome. [We do need more bass and tenor voices!]
