The Parish Council deal with many facets of village life from the simple such as keeping the village tidy and grass cutting in the cemetery, to the more financially complex matters of balancing the budget within the precept that provides the majority of the funds to keep the village functioning.
The Parish Council is also involved in the first stage of any planning applications that are submitted within the Parish boundary.
The allotments and the cemetery also come under the remit of the council.
This range of work is, in the first place, conducted by a number of sub-committees who then report to the main Council meetings where final actions are decided.
Members of the public may, if they wish, attend these meetings and may raise topics in the ‘Public Forum’ providing that the Council Clerk is made aware of them before the meeting commences.
Dates of main meetings can be found in the Parish Magazine (Village Hall Bookings) and
In addition there is also a ‘Council News’ page.
This section of the Friskney Village web site which provided much more information has now migrated to a dedicated location on the LCC website as have many other Parish Councils. This link will take you to that section.
