The Parish Council deal with many facets of village life from the simple such as keeping the village tidy and grass cutting in the cemetery, to the more financially complex matter of balancing the budget on the precept that provides the majority of the funds to keep the village functioning.
The Parish Council is also involved in the first stage of any planning applications that are submitted within the Parish boundary.
The allotments and the cemetery also come under the remit of the council.
This range of work is, in the first place, conducted by a number of sub-committees who then report to the main Council meetings where final actions are decided.
Members of the public may, if they wish, attend these meetings and may raise topics in the ‘Public Forum’ providing that the Council Clerk is made aware of them before the meeting commences.
Dates of main meetings can be found in the Parish Magazine and agendas / minutes etc can be found in the dedicated site.
Reports are also found here after each main meeting and there is also a ‘Council News’ page in the Parish Magazine.
